Anchorage Guest House

Booked last minute as the hotel we spent the night before in was a riot. The hostess Chloe was absolutely brilliant and so understanding, room was an adequate size and spotlessly clean. Lots of eating/drinking places with a 10 mins walk. Defo going back.

Chloe was really friendly to us from we arrived, until we left the room. This house is close to everything,and she was helpful to provide a little map about the location and highlighted all the important points nearby. The room was clean and had comfortable beds, and clean bathroom. I strongly recommend for people who are looking for a fairly cheap place to stay and enjoy the area..

The room was spotless and had everything I could need in it. The owner was very welcoming and anything I may have needed to know was explained to me there and then, for example where extra towels are kept, how to easily reach her if needed. The location was amazing, everything was on our doorstep. Bonus points for letting us leave the car in the car park so we could wander about and get lunch even after we checked out.

We had the most amazing stay here. Amanda was attentive, kind and cooked us a wonderful vegan breakfast. The room was absolutely spotless. We slept very well. Location is fantastic! Thank you so much :)

Really lovely guest house. Amanda was lovely and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely be staying here again when we're next in the area. Lovely breakfasts to wake up to in the morning. Our room was clean and comfortable and perfect for our wee family of three. Right in the centre of Balloch - lots of places to eat around the guest house, or in walking distance. A few great parks for the little ones a short walk along Loch Lomond as well. Would highly recommend staying here.

We (our son 3,5yo, hubby and I) were surprised how the guest house has 4* service!!. Location is easy to find, has car parking and surrounded by cafe, bars, local shops which very good food and friendly people. We normally staying in 4* hotel as there's no in this area, we decided to book in guest house and found mostly good reviews from The Anchorage Guest House which we agreed! Amanda, the host very friendly and very informative about the area, must visits and good food. The price is included with breakfast which very full portion and has many options and all made fresh in the morning!!. The room is very luxury with minimalist design, bed super comfortable and excellent cleanliness (we got double bed and single bed). Heater works well, the shower pressure and temperature perfectly work, iron and iron board also provided, netflix is on, the body soap, cotton bud, cotton is there too! Amazing experience and definitely will be back again! Very very recomended.!!

Firstly, as it's most important to me: this place is very clean and tidy. Anchorage Guest House is in a perfect location for visitors wanting a base to explore the area, or as a stop-off point on longer journeys. There is parking available, otherwise it is a 3 minute walk to the train station and 5-10 minute walk to the bus terminal. There are options within a 5 minute walk for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a local store opposite for sandwiches, cakes, drinks, snacks etc. You can expect a friendly and professional welcome on arrival, from a host who is happy to share her local knowledge. Although the guest house feels like it lacks the 'personality' of your host, and at the moment it isn't aimed at those wanting to spend full days indoors (who wants to do that here anyway!?), this will certainly come with time! Until then, enjoy a great location at reasonable rates and with a super host :)

Top class guesthouse. Hot tub was awesome. Location was perfect, central to everything. Hostess Chloe was so lovely. Definitely will book again. It was the most perfect weekend for my partner's 50th celebrations.
